Suggested Adventure Itinerary - Dawn Til Dusk Adventure
Arrive in Auckland and cure any jetlag you may have with a sailing experience aboard former America’s Cup racing yachts. Crew the boat as you explore the Waitemata Harbour and find out for yourself why Auckland is referred to as ‘the City of Sails’. Climb the Sky Tower in the afternoon. Return to ground with a Sky Jump, leaping from the tower and free falling for around 16 seconds and 192m (630ft) before slowing in the last few seconds to land gently.
Spend the night in Auckland, before driving down to the small town of Waitomo on Day 2.
In the afternoon, explore the Waitomo Caves the wet way! Abseil down into the caves before heading off upstream, walking, swimming and climbing through cathedral-sized vaults and underground rivers to emerge several hours later on ground level. Spend the night in Waitomo.
Day 3 sees you continue on to Rotorua where the afternoon is spent whitewater rafting on the Kaituna River. Explore Rotorua’s forests this evening on a thrilling night mountain bike ride. Begin Day 4 with a 4WD adventure up Mt Tarawera, a volcano that last erupted in 1886. From the edge of the 700ft deep and 5 mile long crater obtain extensive views of the surrounding countryside, out to the ocean and inland to the mountains.
Travel out to White Island by helicopter this afternoon. Enjoy a tour of the island where active Volcanic vents, a steaming Crater Lake, bubbling hot streams and desolate mining ruins combine to create a surreal experience.
Fly down to Nelson on the morning of Day 5 and head into the wilderness that afternoon with a guided heli-trek in the Kahurangi National Park.
Spend Day 6 exploring the Abel Tasman National Park on a guided kayaking trip that takes you around the coast to some of the parks most scenic, secluded coastal spots.
Depart Nelson on Day 7 and take the scenic drive south to Punakaiki on the rugged West Coast. A horse trek along the beach and through the rainforest is the perfect way to experience this beautifully wild part of the country.
Continue down the coast to Fox Glacier and enjoy a guided half day walk on the glacier on Day 8.
After a night in Fox Glacier drive down to the 'Adventure Capital’ of Queenstown for a three night stay. There are plenty of activities to choose from here, bungy jumping, jet boating and rafting are just a few examples. A flight to Milford Sound is a must do before you depart Queenstown on Day 12.
